PowerPolymer Solutions has spent nearly two decades developing patented tunable technologies backed by rigorous research and testing. Funded by agencies like DOE, DHS, NSF, and Caltrans, our work spans multiple disciplines and is rooted in fundamental science. We create chemical-to-structural solutions for large-scale applications—from seismic and hurricane protection to crashworthiness, ballistic resistance, and energy efficiency.
Our cutting-edge facility supports multi-scale, multi-hazard testing, including tri-axial seismic tables, hurricane surge simulators, tornado debris-impact systems, and a Multi-Hazards Stress Chamber for environmental and mechanical stress testing. We also manufacture advanced polymer-based products in-house, designed for both prefabrication and field deployment.
Driven by results and research, our systems have proven effective across civil, mechanical, materials, electrical, and biomedical engineering. How We Got Here
Our Origins
PowerPolymer Solutions began with a simple goal: to create affordable, resilient solutions for homes in areas prone to earthquakes and high winds, as identified in multi-hazard maps. Our focus centered on the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ), a region in the Midwest and South facing dual threats from major earthquakes and EF-5 tornadoes.
By 2010, the rise in school shootings highlighted the need for materials that could absorb shock and resist ballistic impacts. This led to the development of our C-IDA technology—engineered to withstand tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and ballistic threats (up to NIJ Level IV, including .308 and .30-06 magnum rounds). It’s now used in riot gear, ballistic doors, walls, and shields.
Independent testing confirmed our surface modification could replace bulky, costly steel inserts. C-IDA offers a chemically derived, structurally proven solution for multi-hazard environments—designed for a world that’s increasingly unpredictable.
Our Focus
We retrofit aging infrastructure and design new systems with built-in energy harvesting, tailored for extreme conditions. PowerPolymer’s material concept delivers resilience, retention, and long-term durability.
